YES!!! I am living proof...
People have been asking me what I do for myself on my Menopause journey.
Now let me preface it and say it is NOT a one-size-fits-all and to be honest it has been a lot of trial and error for me to get where I am now.
Here is what I do…what my mornings look like…mostly.
Wake at 5:30 AM...I jump straight out as my alarm goes off (do not look at my social media as that is a rabbit hole for me) and put on my exercise clothes. I hit my home gym at 6:00 AM and work out for an hour. Three days a week I do an online resistance training routine with my trainer. The other mornings I walk outside for 2 miles!
After my exercise, I make my protein shake with a clean plant-based protein powder with other supplements that hit my 30-gram protein goal. YUM...my fuel.
While drinking my protein shake, I put my do not disturb on my phone and meditate for at least 10 minutes…sometimes longer, sometimes shorter!
Once my mind is calm, it is journaling time. That is where I can “dump” all the thoughts and feelings that are sitting on me. It is such a sweet release for me.
I am in the shower by 8:00 at the latest and my desk by 8:30!
What I have accomplished in 3 hours is powerful and sets the tone for my day.
Find YOUR formula of what gets you on track every morning. If you are finding that you are dragging yourself out of bed, maybe you should look at any sleep issues that might be waking you during the night. Lack of sleep during Menopause is real...I will be doing a post on that soon....stay tuned.
Creating a routine of movement even if it is for 5 minutes while your coffee is brewing IS a start! To avoid overwhelm or it feeling like a chore, start with 5 mins and work your way up from there.
Small steps create BIG rewards!
