This is such a hot topic, has been for a while but I am seeing that more and more research and information is being shared with us! For that I am so thankful.
When I started on my journey years ago I was clueless that I was even in perimenopause as it wasn't talked about. I felt my body changing, my mind was all over the place, not to mention my emotions...(oh my, that is a topic all on its own). I didn't know what was happening to me, but what I did know was that I could NOT continue like this. My blood pressure went from very low which was normal for me to extremely high which landed me at the Cardiologist and after a full gambit of tests I was put on BP medication!!! I mean...seriously??? What was happening to me is all I could say!
So I did what I always do when faced with uncertainty, I went digging for answers.
Now mark you, doing research is important but I did not know what I was researching. Putting in my "symptoms" lead me down a dark hole of confusion and fear as of course Goggle was diagnosing me from depression to crippling diseases!
I had to "wheel and come again" as they say in Jamaica ( I think) and seek medical counsel as Google was making it worse.
Fast forward....
After testing all my levels AND hormone levels, off I went with the results and had a consultation with a Menopause specialist. It turned out that my hormones had plummetted and I was running on E (empty).
I had direction and answers finally!!!!
What a relief to know that this was causing my symptoms and guess what....I was told this can be turned around with treatment!
Fast forward...again
Today as I write this, my hormones are level, my hot flashes a thing of the past, my BP is normal and I feel AMAZING!
